I spent nine years in broadcast television before making the switch to product design in 2019. Storytelling, working under pressure, communicating complex things simply, I brought all of that with me.

One thing that has helped me recently is using AI as a design review tool. Not to replace human feedback, but to get a faster read on my thinking before it goes to the team. I built a Claude project for this and shared it with our designers. Small thing, but it's made a difference.

I mentor designers through ADPList and on my own teams. Watching someone level up is one of the best parts of this job.
